Business Challenge

How might we cultivate the next generation of intrapreneurial leaders within a global organization—beyond the usual few—with the skills to innovate, validate, and champion new ideas?

Leadership has historically emerged through long-term, organic growth—often taking a decade or more. To sustain innovation at scale, we need to build a broader, more diverse bench of future-ready thinkers and doers who can identify opportunities, test solutions with the market, and pitch with confidence at the executive level.

Program Definition

The New Venture Accelerator Program is focused on the need to grow our talent pool of entrepreneurial employees as well as curate a pipeline of new business ideas for the Tech Accelerator

The program has four main goals:

    • Encourage cross collaboration across the business units.

    • Develop and empower future leaders of our business groups through exposure to entrepreneurial education, mentorship, and opportunities to develop those skills in a hands-on structured training program.

    • Produce marketable new venture ideas that positively contributes to topline of the Advent business units and feeds the SS&C Tech Accelerator.

    • Develop an alum of intrapreneurs who can lean on and learn from each other as they progress their careers at Advent.

Our Approach

Develop & Launch a New Venture Accelerator training program which is a vehicle for the Tech Acceleration and development opportunities for employees.

A New Venture Accelerator program will focus on developing entrepreneurial skills and putting those skills to work through a structured real-world curriculum.  Alumni of this program are encouraged to grow their ideas for funding by the Tech Accelerator.

 

The Venture Accelerator program is modeled off well-established tech accelerators (e.g., YCombinator / Techstars) leveraging the concept of cohorts, mentoring and collaborative learning.

Business Outcomes

​The program equips future leaders with hands-on experience in business modeling, financial planning, and executive pitching. As a result, alumni have successfully brought multiple ideas to market—demonstrating the program’s impact in accelerating intrapreneurial talent and driving real business outcomes.
