Problem
A global pandemic shuts down a local non-profit with the mission to create racial healing and equity through deep conversations and learning, trusting relationships, and collective action in the suburbs of Jacksonville, Fl. The non-profit had to shut down planned events due to COVID-19. It’s also having a difficult time printing their main event tool RACE CARDS. A deck of conversation starters which assist with honest dialogue at their events.
Solution
When one of your board members works for a software company there is only one solution. You host a HACKATHON. Multiple teams organized and worked in their spare time to brainstorm solutions. I was a member of the CARDS FOR HUMANITY team. Our solution, create a digital version of the cards and build a mobile app.
